FINANCIAL REPORTING ACCOUNTANT

A medium sized manufacturing Company in the food industry invites applications for the position of FINANCIAL REPORTING ACCOUNTANT .

JOB SUMMARY:   Reporting to the Chief Financial Controller the Financial Reporting Accountant will have the responsibility of providing management and financial reports to the Shared Service Group.

This position will have responsibility to assist the Chief Financial Controller in achieving all reporting objectives and to assist with the preparation of the annual budget and other long-term financial planning.

         

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high quality analysis of budget variances and other monthly reports.
  • Provide quarterly reports for the Senior Management team and the Board €“ Stock Exchange report and analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of Audited Financial statements.
  • Provide recommendation to improve the quality and maintain the integrity of all reporting systems.
  • Oversight of GL, AR, AP and cash management.
  • Assist with the renewal of the Company €™s insurance.
  • Provide assistance with the audit process (Both internal and external).
  • Review processes to make them more efficient and effective €“ identify opportunities to maximize other operating income streams.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Be in possession of either ACCA or CPA or B. Sc with Accounting major.
  • 5 years €™ accounting experience including general ledger along with supervisory skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years €™ experience in reporting to Executive Management.
  • Experience in manufacturing and the food industry would be an asset.

             

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of good accounting practices especially IFRS.
  • Possess budgetary skills.
  • Computer literacy €“ skilled in QuickBooks, MS Suite, Microsoft
  • Dynamic, POS systems, spread sheet and other applications.
  • Good interpersonal, organizing, planning and coordinating skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills.
  • Confidential, tactful, assertive and resourceful.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Effective communicator both orally and written.
  • Results oriented and commercially aware.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Team player with initiative and a positive attitude
